OUR STORY
In 2016, Ed and Hannah Flint felt called to plant Bread Church in Los Angeles. Before moving with their family, they were based at St Mary’s, an Anglican church in central London, where Ed was ordained and served as Associate Pastor for a decade.
St Mary’s has a history of planting churches shaped by core values: intelligent communication of the Gospel, hunger for the Holy Spirit, and a human approach to church. Bread began with a handful of people meeting in the Flints’ living room.
Bread has since grown into a more established community, and those values remain at our heart. Together, we seek to experience more of Jesus and invite others to do the same.

OUR BOARD
Bread is a 501(c)(3) religious nonprofit, governed by a volunteer board from within the congregation chaired by Ed and Hannah. Meeting regularly, the board provides fiduciary and spiritual leadership by discerning where the Holy Spirit is leading us, participating in the care of the church, overseeing its finances, and fulfilling its legal responsibilities.

OUR COUNCIL
The Council is made up of members of the congregation from across the the Bread community. Four times a year, the Council meets with Ed, Hannah and a representative of the board to share perspectives and feedback on all aspects of church life, helping create communication and accountability between the congregation and leadership.
