We’re beginning our drive to put together packs to distribute to those suffering from homelessness in the areas around Los Feliz. These packs will include a printed resource with listings and directions for all the local services currently available for those living on the streets, as well as essential items such as:
Bottle of water
Pair of socks
Pack of wet wipes
The packs themselves are biodegradable waterproof bags measuring 9 x 15 inches. So the items need to be small enough to all fit in (i.e. 3 gallon bottles are not ideal!).
For convenience sake we have put together an Amazon Wish List so you can get exactly the right stuff off it. Think of it as a wedding registry but with fewer kitchen appliances!
The list can be viewed here: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/YC99ZN2XWHJO?ref_=wl_share
Either buy straight off the list, or get the same products from somewhere else. We will be collecting everything at church from Sunday onwards.
We’re aiming to put together 24 packs to begin with. So if you’d like to donate to these we would be hugely grateful.
We’re finalizing the first date when a team from church will go out and distribute these packs - it looks like it will be in early September and we will repeat these once a month.
The Bard in the Park.
We’re going to watch Shakespeare in the Park on Sunday August 11th. It’s totally free. Bring a picnic, something to sit on, and enjoy Twelfth Night in the beautiful surroundings of Griffith Park. The performance starts at 7pm, but we will be gathering from 5.30pm onwards. For more information check out the link here: http://www.iscla.org/festival-2019
And RSVP to Amy Knutson who can answer any questions you may have - firstname.lastname@example.org.
See you on Sunday 10.30am…
Lots of love,
Ed and Hannah x
