Amy Knutson / Kids Church Leader.
I’m a storyteller by nature, so bear with me as I try to figure out how I briefly explain who I am and how I wound up at bread. My parents are missionaries and I spent a majority of my life traveling to developing countries, mostly in Asia. It was a wild ride, but I loved it and it only fed into my narrative that everything in life should be considered an adventure. I spent my early 20’s up and down the East Coast teaching theatre to kids and exploring the country. I also found myself quickly burning out on the conservative Christianity I had been raised with and walked away from any sort of religious experience.
In my late 20’s I moved to LA on a whim, and fell in love with this impossible city. I also slowly found myself craving a Christianity that was filled with compassion and empathy. I bounced around from church to church looking for a place that I connected with and in 2017, experienced bread for the first time. I was drawn in and I truly believe in what this church is all about and am so excited to lead bread kids! I’ve been working in and around education all my life and I think learning is best when it’s playful, experiential, exciting, colorful, and occasionally a little bit messy (or really messy, if we need to be).
